Well, hello there!

In case you haven't noticed, somewhere between Easter and another April snow storm, I kind of fell off the blogging bus and haven't posted anything.  Sorry about that.  I really do mean for this blog to be a continuous, ongoing sort of thing, not a fits-and-starts sort of one.  However, like many of you know, there are some times that you simply need to prioritize, and despite your best efforts, you can't get done everything you'd like to do.  That said, for what it's worth, here's a sampling of what I've been up to in the last couple of weeks:
  1. Easter!  This year I got to preach on Easter Sunday, which included four services from 7am to Noon.  Since I was the preacher, I was also the primary person in charge of planning our Easter Sunday worship, which is not something I take lightly.  In case you're interested, you can listen to my sermon by going here and then selecting Schedule, Saturday and Sunday, March 31, 2013 and then finding First Lutheran (9:45am) on the drop down list.
  2. Living Room Summit- April 2-4 I took a continuing ed. class called the Living Room Summit.  The format of the class was to meet in three presenters' living rooms while we learned and reflected on what we were learning.  During the course of the three days, we experienced three intentional models for family ministry: building bridges, parents share, and full circle relationships.  This conference was phenomenal and I would highly recommend it to anyone involved with family ministry.
  3. Reid is crawling!  It continues to amaze me how quickly little ones go from not being able to do
something to basically mastering it.  Esme is amazed at how quickly Reid can get to all of "her" toys.
  4. I had a birthday!  That's right, I am now 33.  Since I was born on April 10, I seem to have a slight preference for the even-numbered years, but I love birthdays no matter what.  This was extra special because it was the first birthday I've had when Esme realizes what is going on.  It was so fun to hear her say, "Your birthday's coming soon Mommy!"  Last year, I wrote a list of 32 things I wanted to do during my 32nd year.  Though I didn't get to everything on my list (the ones I did do are in fuchsia), it was fun to keep going back over it throughout the year.  This year, I plan on creating another list, plus one.

  1. I was just thinking about you the other day and was hoping you weren't done blogging already :). I hope you had a great birthday! I too made a list of things I wanted to get done throughout the year. Its fun to look back and see how much you have done that you set out to do. I can't believe Reid is crawling already! Hopefully we can all get together soon. It's been awhile. Glad to hear all is well.
