Tuesday TED Talk

There are some things you come across that you just have to share.  For me, this TED Talk is one of them.  It was as though I could feel the fire in my belly grow as I watched it.  The more I listened, the more inspired and motivated I felt.  If you've ever had something that captures your imagination and motivates you to make a difference in the world in some way, then you know what I mean.

Of course, there's no real gain from just watching a video and getting inspired unless we tap into that feeling of energy and excitement and do something with it.  This definitely relates to what Ken Robinson says when he quotes Ben Franklin by saying: "There are three types of people in the world.  Those who are immovable.  Those who are moveable.  And those who move."

Personally, I want to be (and make an effort to be) someone who moves.  I have no trouble thinking up ideas; but sometimes the hard part is tackling them.  But in both my personal and professional life, I'm working hard at being someone who is willing to try something new without needing to know how it will turn out in the end.  I do this in part because I want my kids to know you are never too old to learn and that it is okay to make mistakes.  I also do this because the most interesting people I know are people who do things...people who are creative and innovative and adventurous at heart.

I hope you enjoy this TED talk.  Even more, I hope you are able to find what inspires you and are then able to tap into that "fire in your belly" in a way that both fills you and blesses others!

P.S. If you are viewing this via email, you may need to click here to watch the video.
