What I'm Reading Now

Reading is truly one of my favorite things to do, but another passion is passing on the names of good books I read to others.  So here I am again, passing on the titles that I have found worthy in recent weeks, in addition to the book that currently has my attention.

The Distant Land of My Father- I first came across author Bo Caldwell through the recommendation of a friend, who had read her other book: City of Tranquil Lights.  Since I enjoyed that book, I decided to pick up Caldwell's first novel and try that too.  It's the story of a father and daughter and their relationship--intriguing, interesting, and well-developed.

The Best Yes- This is great for anyone who takes time to reflect and discern.  Author Lysa TerKeurst uses her own journey to help readers think about what God is calling them to do and how to make choices that line up with whatever that is.  Tidbits of the book have made it into a sermon, an article I wrote for the local paper, and continue to shape my own discernment and decision-making.

Ship of Brides- At this point I try to read anything that JoJo Moyes pens, and she has yet to disappoint.  Character development is one of her strengths, and she had quite a few to develop in this novel.  For that reason, it took a little longer than normal to "get into" this book, but it was well worth seeing it through the end.

What's Next?  A few that are on my list to take in soon are:
Taming the To Do List by Glyniss Witwer
The Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan
Surprised by Motherhood by Lisa-Jo Baker
